FAIRWORLD AND SHINGLES

'Since I chanced upon a news-feed from South Korea showing a haul of illegal drugs sent from China- I have been rendered relatively speechless and justified in the same time-frame: these millions of brightly coloured capsules were found to contain the ground up remains of baked human babies, an ingredient which far eastern peoples apparently believe to be highly curative. That mankind per se is the problem is currently being proven to me every day. No it does not make ME evil to say that.' CM

'I am currently having to deal with an American 'graphic designer' who works with commercial products- they seem to have lost the ability to manipulate or change the format of jpegs. WTF! This is entry level computing so why call yourself a 'graphic designer'? Yes we have reached that point where we have moved on from 'you can be anything that you want to be regardless of your skills and talents'
to the present day where 'you are [apparently] what you say you are- do not dare to say otherwise.' For a few dollars you can self-certificate and, on social networks, I understand that anything goes when it comes to veracity. Pathetic. And what is to be gained by it. The great comedic talent Catherine Tate has a sketch which illustrates this slippery slope beautifully- she pretends to be a polyglot in a boardroom full of various nationalities and is acting as a fill-in translator; in fact she can barely speak English; her hilarious translations are all gobbledy-gook. Her point is beautifully made- it is one thing to say that you are something but quite another to be it; Facebook 'poets' take especial note.' CM

'Inflated self-importance overlaying and disguising the fatally deep-seated flaws of a lack of a profound education and empathy coupled with a natural predisposition to total incompetence will be the death of us: actually it has already been the death of us.' CM

'In the beginning- from the moment of our conception, we commence our very singular journeys to their multifarious BUT inevitable ends. There is no user friendly way of packaging this fact unless you buy into delusionby investing in inclusion in the hive mind. I find far more security in harsh truth than romantic idylls that have no proof of ever having delivered. Our fear fuelled delusions invented hope and prayer as an antidote to perfectly rational despair. To expect a life devoid of despair is to contract out of being natural- such is our arrogance. And what a merry dance our unfettered egos have led us. Mankind set apart from an intimate symbiotic with nature is a hopeless adventure drenched in disharmony. It will be the end of us. Meanwhile there are a few pioneers who have reached the tipping point of knowing too much and they have begun returning to their ancient roots. Considering where we currently are I see that as a significant progressive step and possibly an evolutionary one.' CM

'I had Chicken-Pox as a child- you never rid your body entirely of the virus and it lurks like a mean time-bomb in your spinal column [a lot of viruses do this- they also utilise the intercostal muscles between the ribs]; Chicken-Pox waits to finally transmute into a slightly different version that arises in nerve clusters anywhere in the body causing immense pain [few painkillers are effective against nerve pain]; the new strain becomes what we call Shingles and it will typically attack when an immune system is weakened and the holistic body is subject to severe stress. I have been diagnosed with Shingles- it has arisen from my my sciatic nerve and nerves around my left hip joint; I thought I had fractured my hip without falling or was delivering kidney stones BUT then the striated and blistering rash appeared. Currently in the clutches of Shingles- which can last for months, has partly immobolised me and is giving me sleepless nights, I can assure you that I will forever shudder when the disease is mentioned. YES of course it could be worse- it could be on my face and threatening my eyesight. I just wanted to inform about something I was entirely ignorant of. The Shingles stage of Chicken-Pox is non-communicable. More time on my iPad, Laptop. Mmm but I am stir crazy, in pain, irritated and somewhat stupefied by drugs. What would reduce my stress- well for starters, the creation of a charity intended to be the only charity that survives insofaras its raison d'etre is to eliminate the need for the existence of all other charities; lets call it FAIRWORLD: to initially fund it I would ask any multi-billionaire in the world to reduce their holdings to no more than 1 billion and transfer all of the excess to FAIRWORLD. Now there is a reason for having a voice and using it.' CM

  1. Great stuff! This is vintage bile of a quality found only in the most expensive champagne. A bile laced with arsenic. Forget shingles, mate! What about dandruff? This is another form of leprosy. Did you know that? The two are linked. Have you ever suffered the social indignity of having white flakes on the collar and shoulders of a black suit? People pointing and whispering, “That poor fucker needs Head & Shoulders.” We’re talking social outcast here. I used to walk round ringing a bell. “Dandruff!” “Dandruff!” But enough of my problems. I particularly like your idea of the FAIRWORLD charity. Should this come to fruition I would be more than glad to look after the money side of it. On another note, I’m not being paranoid but I wonder if your warning to FB poets referred to my short – and not altogether sweet – career writing Haiku.
