GIRLS AND PHYSICS AND CHRISTMAS TILLMASS

'Glumday rain- a pain in the water-butt again. Yesterday me and my man had a hand in hand day in every which way- a powerplay in the relationship. Hip hip hooray!' CM

'One in ten thousand people might in some small way care enough for you to make them stand out from the rest: ten in one hundred thousand- you do the math.

So we might reasonably expect some degree empathy from one hundred people in a million.

Now let's get real- you might think cynically so.

Of that one hundred there may be your one in a million among the ten people of 'the cream' who represen
t the top ten per cent, good people who've indicated to you that for you they will extend the the rare hand of genuine friendship.

In ten million people you might find a mere ten from whose number just one will stand out as being particularly special to you.

If it works for them too- AND it is an extraordinary big if, then you have won the relationship lottery.

Despite any appearances to the contrary mankind throughout history, despite the efforts of all the religions and indeed, maybe because of the efforts of man-made religions, cannot claim to be a friendly lot.
Friendliness essentially becomes us more so in times of great adversity when we finally wake up to the phenomenal link between creative collaboration, mutual love AND the survival of our species.

I wish we could break the cycle of sinking back into moribund states of apathy and carelessness between these peaks of great adversity. We are supposed to be able to stand on the shoulders of our forebears and progress and, quite clearly, technologically we advance but in terms of emotional intelligence we appear to regress the longer these moribund states last.

The longer the moribund state lasts, the more regressive our emotional intelligence gets, the greater likelihood that we will walk ourselves into creating the next great peak of adversity. Yes. It really is and will be our fault.

We are mindlessly birthing future generations into the unavoidable miseries that we have recklessly seeded.

So much for the various human civilisations exercising civilised control- not only are we subject to a vast plethora of natural disasters, we seem fated by our own cyclical nature to create our own.

In the midst of all this we demand, expect, even pray that we find that lottery win of trusted and long-lasting love. With it we also want 'friends' who do not let us down, we want nice neighbours, we want to live fulfilled lives.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!' CM

'Girls in the UK not wanting to study Physics- it is NOT JUST the effect of puerile misogyny- there is the more abiding effect of subliminal image labeling driven by the fashion and cosmetics industry, the mores of organised religions and capitalist states.

We increasingly allow our children to become sexualised before they become people and it drives me mad.

Maths was my worse subject at school
[no surprise there] and I had to take extra lessons to get my O Level- in it, an exam which then was absolutely essential to matriculate into University.

I sat 10 O Levels. All of them much harder to get than grade A GCSE's. At our mixed 'Grammar' school ALL the girls and ALL the boys were doing O Level Physics.

This present idea of girls not wanting to do physics is a problem of the last thirty years. They don't want to do cookery or home economics either.

Everyone wants to do the class 'How to be famous for very little effort on just a modicum of talent'. That stream is totally over-subscribed. TV is a very effective and influential teacher, that and peer pressure, BUT the content on offer is arguably not at all the best.' CM

'It is only OCTOBER- the worst of blatantly capitalist Christmas has already hit the shops- weeks before Halloween [A very damp squib in the UK] and Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night [An execrable event in the UK where explosives are commonly sold at vast expense and many people are injured by them- all this in a period of terrorism and recession. Pointless stupidity].

We have promised to emphasis the pagan natural magic of the winter solstice.

YES! Try finding any greetings card ANYWHERE that celebrate that. We shall be making our own. That's the kind of thing we actually do rather well. Fuck Capitalist Christmas- I call it TILLMASS or CRASSMASS.' CM

I am not possessed of a ruthlessness which is wickedly supporting a lack-lustre talent. Had I been I would be the wealthy man that some of you mistakenly perceive me to be. No doubt about that.

Am I a man of the people? Not really. Not anymore. 'The people', as I understand the term, from my perspective as a miner's son from the Welsh valleys, are proving to be deeply disappointing. Greedy hedoni
sts, their apathy for anything more demanding than shopping or watching TV is the great gift that they bestow on successive governments; their pretentious stoicism or myopia in the face of their rulers ridicule of them and their ability to understand is just breathtaking.

They have taken to the bottle or some drug of choice- be it alcohol, painkillers or cocaine, sugar-salt-fat, sex, and have all become addicted to a passive and moribund state in-between bouts of ugly over-indulgence. They have forgotten that they once had bottle and passion and pride in the workplace. They have lost their bottle.

They are British- so I am not holding my breath. In any case I shall be long dead before the truth of this finally hits them squarely in the face.

What can I do about it. Well I have made a great effort to create an internet presence. I am not at all afraid to voice what I think. And I do write as if my life depends on it. I play to my strengths.

See, I would never in a million years have persuaded myself, aged sixteen, that my average singing voice was anything special and worthy of an embarrassing shot at X-Factor or anything similar. Delusion was not at all fashionable then as it is now.

In the real world I had enough to contend with- the bitter old crone who was Head of English at the Grammar School that I attended [an hours journey there and an hours journey back without the luxury of a lift in a Chelsea Tractor by my posh mum] she actually believed that all my creative writing was plagiarised and sought to discover all my sources. She simply could not reason that a working class boy like myself could generate such brilliance at that age without substantially cheating. Her influential prejudice blighted my Sixth Form/A Level experience.

Education is life and life is education. No question. BUT learning should not ever be studded by vile setbacks. All learning is a fast-track to personal fulfillment. If I want anything at all- I want 'the people' to wake up and grasp the nettle of that. March for its freedoms and never say die. Every day I wish.' CM

'I have baby plants to pot on. Nature truly rocks- bless her cotton socks. Belinda Curtis- yes babes: I have been worrying about money BUT not exactly my own; I look after this paradise for my friend Jill in the States and we are having loads of very expensive work done. I try my best to look at things through her eyes and ensure that the work is good and that she is not being ripped off. It also
means there are workmen here a lot which compromises security and impinges on our privacy. There is the source of the stress and it has manifested itself in a VERY ANNOYING flare-up of sciatica on my left side, which does rather suggest that recent events have impacted on the right side of my brain 'the seat of my creative and spiritual strength. You witchy pooh clever clogs.' CM
