'The process of choosing a new head of the Anglican Church here and abroad has begun- imagine the infighting for the crown of the Archbishopric of Canterbury; wholly unholy and unseemly despite what their spin doctors will say. The evangelicals tend to be fundamentalists who fervently want to live their lives by every darned wrathful word in that torpid tome, the deservedly maligned Bible; they are essential minds-set-in-concrete misogynist gay haters who would bring back stoning at the drop of a mitre. The evangelicals are flying absolutely in the face of new government legislation to make marriage available for all. The appointment is made by clerics but has to be ratified by the PM and, by inference, The Queen- who is also the head of the Anglican Church thanks to her womanizing and rabidly executing forebear King Henry VIII. SO expect there to be tears in both those corridors of power- one Lambeth Palace where men wear frocks strut and tut and two The Palace of Westminster where, thankfully, both men and women call the shots. What utterly irrelevant and incredibly expensive fun! Meanwhile- gather all ye artists of creative truth and take these nutters to task.' CM
